Terms of Service

"Platform" means the CBT Land website, mobile applications, APIs, and all related services.

"User" means any individual who accesses or registers on the Platform.

"Learner" means a User registered to practise exam questions, enrol in courses, or sit certification exams.

"Examiner" means a User registered to create, publish, and sell exam content or training courses.

"Content" means all text, images, questions, answers, course materials, videos, and any other material available on the Platform.

"Subscription / Purchase" means a paid transaction giving access to a question pack, certification exam, or training course.

You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or guardian has consented to these Terms.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account details up to date.

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to notify us immediately at message@cbtland.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

We reserve the right to refuse registration or terminate accounts at our discretion, particularly where we suspect fraud, misrepresentation, or violation of these Terms.

You agree to use the Platform only for lawful educational purposes. You must not:

• Share, redistribute, or resell exam content or course materials without written authorisation.
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to extract or bulk-download content.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or its databases.
• Impersonate another person, examiner, or CBT Land staff.
• Upload content that is defamatory, obscene, infringing, or otherwise unlawful.
• Use the Platform in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair it.
• Engage in cheating during certification exams, including tab-switching, copying, or using external aids in violation of exam rules.

All prices are displayed in Nigerian Naira (₦) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Payments are processed securely via Paystack.

Refunds: We offer refunds within 7 days of purchase if you have not accessed the purchased content. Once a question pack, certification exam, or course is accessed or attempted, it is non-refundable. To request a refund, contact message@cbtland.com.

Certification exams: Exam fees are non-refundable once the exam session has been started. A failed exam may be reattempted upon payment of the applicable fee.

We reserve the right to change pricing at any time. Existing purchases will not be retroactively affected.

Examiners may upload question packs, courses, and certification exams for sale on the Platform. By submitting content, you:

• Confirm that you own or have the right to use and publish all uploaded content.
• Grant CBT Land a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to display, distribute, and use the content on the Platform.
• Accept that CBT Land retains a platform commission from each sale (the current rate is displayed in your Examiner dashboard and is subject to change with 14 days' notice).

Earnings: Net earnings (sale amount less platform commission) are credited to your Examiner wallet after each verified purchase. Earnings remain in "pending" status until the payment settlement window has passed.

Withdrawals: You may request a withdrawal once your available balance meets the minimum withdrawal threshold (currently displayed in Settings). Withdrawals are processed to the Nigerian bank account you provide within 3–5 business days. CBT Land reserves the right to withhold withdrawals pending investigation of fraud, chargebacks, or policy violations.

PIN Purchases: Examiners may purchase batches of exam access PINs to distribute to candidates for live proctored exams. PIN purchases are non-refundable once the PINs have been distributed or used. Unused PINs in unexpired batches may be carried forward.

We reserve the right to review, approve, reject, or remove any content that violates these Terms, applicable laws, or our content quality standards.

Examiners may create live proctored exams where candidates sit a timed assessment under automated and/or human supervision. By participating in a proctored exam, you agree to:

• Allow the Platform to access your webcam and/or screen during the exam session for integrity monitoring, if enabled by the Examiner.
• Refrain from switching tabs, copying content, or using unauthorised aids. Such actions are logged as violations and may result in automatic disqualification.
• Have your capture images and violation events reviewed by the Examiner who created the exam.

Proctoring data (webcam images, screen captures, and violation logs) is retained for 90 days after exam completion and then permanently deleted, unless a dispute is open, in which case data is retained until the dispute is resolved.

Examiners who create live exams are responsible for ensuring they have a lawful basis to collect proctoring data from their candidates and must inform candidates of this collection before the exam begins.

CBT Land is not liable for exam results challenged on the basis of proctoring decisions made by Examiners.

Users who refer others to the Platform may earn referral bonuses as follows:

• Learner referral: A fixed bonus (currently ₦500) credited when the referred learner registers and completes their first purchase.
• Examiner referral: A fixed bonus (currently ₦2,000) credited when the referred examiner registers and becomes active.

Bonus amounts are set by CBT Land and are subject to change with 14 days' notice. Referral bonuses are credited to your wallet and may be withdrawn once the minimum withdrawal threshold is met.

CBT Land reserves the right to withhold or reverse bonuses resulting from fraudulent referrals, chargebacks, or refunds. Abuse of the referral programme (self-referral, fake accounts, etc.) will result in account suspension and forfeiture of all accrued bonuses.

The CBT Land name, logo, brand identity, platform design, and all proprietary content are the intellectual property of CBT Land Ltd and are protected under Nigerian and international copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any CBT Land proprietary content without prior written consent.

Past examination questions sourced from official examination bodies remain the property of those bodies. CBT Land does not claim ownership over third-party examination content.

The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or harmful components.

CBT Land does not guarantee that practising on our Platform will result in passing any official examination. Results depend on individual effort, preparedness, and factors beyond our control.

To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, CBT Land shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of opportunity.

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account without prior notice if we believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraud, or pose a risk to other users or the Platform.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — shall survive termination of your account.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the Platform shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation.

If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.

We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Platform at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
